Ok, so it’s probably obvious why the number one search on this website is part time webmaster. I keep wondering though, why people were searching for the term. Is it because you’re looking for one? Is it because you are one? Please feel free to let me know. I’d be more than happy to add some insight in to what you’d like to know

Yes, we can also help you with your website. You don’t always need a full time person, sometimes you’re just looking for someone to fix something broken on your website. If this is the case, we can help.
Our specialty is programming with or without databases on the .NET or ColdFusion platforms. Have to admit, we’re not that good at graphics. So, if you have an issue with a broken page, or error message, feel free to contacts us by clicking on the Need Help? Ask a Webmaster link at the top of the page.
IF you are looking to do part time webmaster work on the side, it’s not that hard to set up. For example, we get some of our work from GoFreelance.com. It’s $7 for the trial and it is a lot cheaper than paying for each lead. Sometimes lead generation sites can cost you more than $7 a lead! And, of course, others get the lead as well. So, this is a more cost effective solution.

Run the following sql in a query window. Make sure to substitute the xyz. *Note, when you copy this, the single quotes may change. So, if it crashes when you run it, replace the single quotes with actual single quotes.
SELECT ROUTINE_NAME, ROUTINE_DEFINITION
FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.ROUTINES
WHERE ROUTINE_DEFINITION LIKE ‘%xyz%’
AND ROUTINE_TYPE=’PROCEDURE’

Did you know it is possible to point a domain name (website address) to your LinkedIn profile? For example, my profile can be found at http://www.linkedin.com/in/joebailey? So what right? Well, if I owned the domain name joebailey.com, or hirejoebailey.com, I could point it to my LinkedIn profile. And it would only take about 10 minutes from start to end.
How does this help me? Well, if you need to direct someone to your linked in profile, you could just give them your website address (domain name). It would be a lot easier. Also, you could set up an email address for that domain name as well. So, if anyone ever wanted to get in touch with you, they’d know your email address as well.
Here’s how to do it.
- Go to JoesWebshack and purchase a domain name. It will be less than $10 a year, and it comes with an email address
- Once purchased, log into your account if you haven’t already.
- Now, click on the top or left navigation where it says “My Domain Names”
- Now, you will see a list of your domain names. Click on the hyperlink of your domain name.
- At the top of the page in the navigation, click on the “Forward”, then “Forward Domain” option
- In the box, type in your LinkedIn address and press OK, and you’re finished!
After setting up several Wordpress websites, it dawned on me, this can get technical, and it can get time consuming if you’re just learning how to use Wordpress. In addition, what if you’ve never had a website before, and you don’t know about hosting, or domain names, what do you do then?
Well, this post is just to see who’s out there, and if this is even a need. So, if you would like us to install Wordpress for you, let us know. You can respond to this thread or use the “Ask the Webmaster” option.
Initially, the package I was thinking about creating consists of the following:
1. Domain name
2. Hosting
3. Set up an email address with the potential to have more.
4. FTP Access
5. Wordpress installation
6. 5 standard plugins to be determined. Maybe the idea is we could let you choose from a list.
Requirements:
1. It would have to be on our hosting
2. You would have had to choose a domain name already.
3. You would have to pay up front, because the cost of domains and hosting are real costs.
4. We would need 24 hours to set it up.
5. Hosting questions would be directed through JoesWebshack.com.
6. WordPress questions would have to be posted on this site or elsewhere. This way, we could build a shared list of questions and help for everyone. In addition, there is so much to do with WordPress, we would be overwhelmed with the questions and would have to charge to answer questions.
